Yesterday's trek included a rainy walk down, and then up, approximately 180 stairs (not that I was counting*) to Dunnottar Castle. Some parts of the castle ruins were built in the late 1300s and are still standing there today. It was incredible to walk through the rooms and get a vague sense for what life in a castle on a cliff would feel like.

Our day began with a tour of Glamis Castle, and a stop for some photos of highland cows (naturally).

We finished our day with a visit to the new V&A Dundee museum, and a sighting of the RRS Discovery.

Our first stop today was at Eilean Donan Castle, which dates back to the early 13th century when the island and original defensive structure was built to defend against vikings. AND part of the 1986 classic "Highlander" was filmed there, because who doesn't like a little Sean Connery with their history?

Today began with a frosty walk up to a view of the Glenfinnan viaduct (another nod to the Harry Potter films because a love of Harry Potter lasts a lifetime).

The rest of the day was spent driving through some of the most spectacular views of snowy mountains beside autumn coloured fields, as we made our way to the Isle of Skye.

Our adventures began with an evening at The Drovers Inn, a haunted establishment built in 1705.

Kaylee and Curtis were married on a beautifully warm day in July. What a truly stunning day it was as these two celebrated with each other, and all of their loved ones. Congrats, you two!

Today was such a lovely note to end my Scotland Adventures posts on. It started with a tour of Blackness Castle, and ended with afternoon tea on a steam train.
